Barkat Hossain Polash is a freelance Cinematographer based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Being a graduate in Economics from University of Dhaka, Polash worked as a fellow in Cinematography in “Asian Film Academy-2015, South Korea”, “Kyoto Filmmakers Lab-2016, Japan” and “Berlinale Talents-2019, Germany”. He has worked as a Camera assistant at “Sandbag Ltd” which is the most equipped camera rental house in Bangladesh from 2011 to 2013, and assisted two prominent Cinematographers Mr. Rashed Zaman & Mr. Kamrul Hasan Khosru. His first feature film “Jalal’s Story” (2015) have won the “Best Cinematography Award” at 6th SAARC Film Festival of Colombo in 2016. He is also working as a cinematographer in feature film “Project Ommi” (2018-2019) & “Manusher Bagan: The First Plantation” (2018-2019) which are currently in production stage. At present, Polash is working both in narrative films as well as commercial and is a member of “Bangladesh Society of Cinematographers” and “Cameraman Association of Bangladesh (CAB)”.
